Cholpon-Ata located right middle of the northshore of Issyk-Kul. It is only 2hours from Karakol( famous for trekking and skiing) and 4 hours from Bishkek(capital city)

When you get out from the Manac airport, many taxi drivers annoy you and some of them try to get ripped off! The average amount to the City center is 500-600com. Before you get into the taxi, please make sure the price!
There are also mini-bus (marshrutska) to the Osh bazaar. It costs only 40com. Extremely CHEAP! Exit the terminal and turn right, then you will see the bus stop of #380 marshrutska. It takes you to near Osh Bazaar in about 30min. Runs from 8:00 to around 20:00.
From Bishkek
FYI: smart phone application "BUS.KG" will definitely help you the transportation of Bishkek!!
When you get to Osh bazaar, you should take taxi or mini-bus to the West Bus terminal (Zapadny Abtobakzal), You can also walk but it takes around 30min.
The mini bus and taxi bound for Cholpon-Ata is from the east side of the West bus terminal. When you get off the taxi, many long distance drivers ask where you will go or they are shouting where they will go. Taxi cost 350com(winter) and 400-500com (summer)
After you go through taxi driver's area, go toward to the mini-bus (marshrutska) terminal. There are several mini-bus bound for Issyk-Kul region and price for Chopon-Ata is 280com-300com.
Both taxi and mini-bus will not departure until all sheets will be full. (Sometimes, we should wait 1 hour...)
From Karakol
Karakol bus terminal is located North side of Karakol city. You can get there by mini-bus (marshurutska) for 10com or taxi (70com for 1 ride).There are several bus stops in Karakol but bus terminal is only one, so you should ask driver to take to Abtobakzal(автовокзал)
For Cholpon-Ata, taxi cost 200com-250com and mini-bus(marshurutska) cost 150com.
It takes about 2 hours to get to Cholpon-Ata and i recommend you to sit on the left side of car. You can see amazing lake view!
Cholpon-Ata's transportation
Cholpon-Ata has only 1 route of marshurutska through Sovetskaya St. and it is from the west side of Cholpon-Ata calles PMK (пмк) to Bosteri village. You can take and get off wherever you want but ask driver to drop you off. The fee from city center to Bosteri village is 10com and from PMK to Bosteri is 15com.
There are many Taxies during the season. Take and get off the taxi along the Sovetskaya St. is only 15com, but when you go further (ex, go to Ala-too Beach), it cost 50com-150com.
How to get to Bishkek?
Cholpon-Ata has 2 bus terminal; one is head for Bishkek(and Balkchy) and the other is for Karakol.
When you go to Bishkek, you should go to West bus terminal, which is closed to theater (кино театор).
How to get to Karakol?
Bus terminal for Karakol is located on the east side of the city. Though everyone says “bus terminal”, there is no bus terminal but many mini-bus or taxi parked on the street.

<CAUTITON>
Summer season will be more expensive then winter time. At the high season, taxi driver offer you to 500com to Bishkek. It is really expensive!!! You should negotiate to them or go by marshiritska.
